Of all his works his most popular has always been The Confessions, which he refused to publish during his lifetime. Frontispiece is portrait of Jean-Jacques Rousseau (1712-1778). Illustrations by William Sharp. Collectors Edition, bound in Genuine Leather. Covers and leaves are near VVG and possibly never read. However, some of the gold leaf edge effects seem to have very light foxing possibly due to shelf wear.
